Concrete Society Awards: 13 November 2009

The Concrete Society has commended Calthorpe House in its Building Category at its awards dinner at The London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square, on 13th November 2009.

The judges commented “Calthorpe House has been successfully designed and built as a contemporary office building that is at ease with the built heritage of the area and has excellent sustainability credentials. The design is an impressive use of concrete cladding and glass. While the decision to use precast concrete cladding is obvious, it is the size of the panels at 4.4m x 8,0m, with complex reinforcement design and pre-installed windows, and the high degree of prefabrication, that together make this building stand out”

Ridge was appointed as quantity surveyors on this prestigous project, which was completed earlier this year. The development is situated at a prime location with easy access, excellent car parking and an extensive range of local amenities; it was built to the highest specification and has been designed with the environment and energy efficiency in mind.
