Eton College, WindsorEton College has a continuous rolling programme of maintenance and refurbishment of their twenty six boarding houses; Ridge has worked on their last three projects. Each boarding house is of Victorian origin and typically contains fifty separate boys’ bedrooms, its own catering facility and a maximum of seven resident staff, in addition to the house Dame. Each member of staff occupies their own self contained flat. The Housemaster lives on the “Private Side” of the House and includes family accommodation as well as working areas for the day-to-day management and running of the House. The refurbishments include full internal and external repair and redecoration throughout, including new furniture, soft furnishings, fixtures and fittings. The works also include remodelling of layouts including rationalising existing bedroom, kitchen and ablution areas in order to achieve optimum space. Ridge is involved from inception to completion of these projects. The services provided include feasibility reporting, measured and condition surveying, cost and space planning, detailed design and specification writing, tendering and project management. We have also been involved with the phasing of the works and moves management of the boarding houses, which remain occupied throughout the course of the works. |
