Hemisphere Residential Development, Edgbaston
A joint development with Redrow and Calthorpe Estates, this project is the flagship of an ongoing phase of the Client’s residential developments within Birmingham.
The site, formerly the old West Midlands Police Station and an old mill site, overlooks Edgbaston County Cricket ground. The development has been built in five distinctive seven-storey blocks, which are a combination of brick, render and terracotta rain-screen cladding. The blocks surround an inner landscaped area designed for vehicular and pedestrian traffic alike. The scheme comprises 344 luxury, 1 and 2-bed apartments and penthouses with all apartments sharing high-quality finishes.
Detailed planning achieved the optimum phasing of the development. Careful attention to detail was key to the Client providing a progressive release of apartments to the sales team, and at each completed section of the Works, providing purchasers with an environment and amenities that were not affected by the ongoing contract works.
To ensure the delivery of the completed units to meet the sales release programme detailed management procedures were put in place to monitor and control progress against programme, quality control and handover of the completed works to the required quality. Ridge assisted Redrow’s in-house PM team, and with good project collaboration, successfully satisfied an exacting Client.
