Chilworth Technical Centre Extension, Merck ChemicalsIn an ongoing relationship with Merck, Ridge has provided services for a series of laboratory modifications and refurbishment of space to create new laboratories. Ridge were approached to provide cost advice on a proposed 300m² laboratory and office extension to the South Wing and advise how this might be procured. Following initial approval to proceed Ridge, provided project management services to commission the design team, and additional Cost Control and CDMC services to develop the options, obtain planning approval, and procure the main contract, services enabling projects and separate laboratory furniture fit out. The final project required tight financial control and a structured Value Engineering Study to deliver the total scheme within the set budget. The facility provided new office and meeting space at the ground floor level, two large laboratories with write-up space at first floor level and plant space in an extended Plant Room at roof level. |
