DSGi StoresRidge has been involved in several hundred projects for DSG International across their UK portfolio since 1996. In that time the Client has undertaken a major expansion of their store portfolio and as well as re-siting stores in strategically important locations, it has also re-fitted stores to increase trading area, redefined product positions and re-branded certain stores to reflect changing markets. The relationship was initiated through a competitive tender and schedule of rates, and subsequent projects have been the subject of a partnering system utilising a fully tendered schedule of rates. Projects range from shell construction to internal fit-out. Units vary from traditional retail warehouses to high street stores and state of the art premium shopping centres. The projects are very fast-track with a construction contract period from four weeks to nine months. Re-fits are phased to allow trading operations to continue. The Project Management function is very wide ranging and requires the Ridge team to liaise with a number of different client departments, including store design and planning, purchasing, store transformation, store management and direct contractors to ensure the smooth running of the works in what is a very competitive retail environment. The stores can typically have over 30 trade contractors on site at any one time. The project managers control these projects ensuring that they are delivered on time and to budget with the finishes to a very high standard. |
