Ridge was approached by Hobbs to inspect various properties within their portfolio and, as part of their two year rolling ‘healthcheck’, produce a planned maintenance programme individual for each store Each building was challenging and held its own unique defects and issues. The properties identified tended to be older period buildings, centrally located within historic towns and cities such as York, Edinburgh and Cheltenham. Many of the buildings surveyed were Listed and located within Conservation Areas, requiring special attention to be paid to maintaining the overall fabric of the buildings. Part of Hobbs’ continued success is their emphasis is on ensuring the highest quality is delivered to their clientele. Ridge ensured that these values remained uncompromised by successfully delivering each maintenance programme within a strict timeframe, with minimal disruption to trading. Furthermore, by highlighting remedial measures which both complement and enhance the subject buildings Ridge ensured that the buildings integrity remained truthful. As our relationship with the client develops, we have been re-commissioned to undertake additional surveys, including their main distribution centre located in West London. Further instructions to Contract Administer the maintenance works such as those to the external courtyard at the Nottingham Store have also been received. This scheme involved the production of a full specification and drawings package accounting for lime re-pointing works, sympathetic to the original construction. |
