Where clients wish to procure work on a design and build basis, Ridge fulfil the role of Employer's agent. Projects can include new build and refurbishment and Ridge has wide experience in housing, offices, leisure, retail, health, education and motorsport.
When undertaking the role of Employers agent, Ridge will:
- Undertake scheme appraisals
- Prepare Employer's requirement documents
- Prepare project risk register and manage this process
- Manage and advise on appointment of other consultants
- Coordinate specialist investigations
- Advise on necessary statutory consents
- Prepare work programmes
- Undertake cost planning
- Manage the tendering process
- Assess contractor proposals
- Monitor works on site
- Advise on environmental matters

- New Thames Water HQ building in Reading - a £30 million new build office achieving a BREEAM excellent rating
- Kingfisher Housing Association - 30 new build flats at £1.3 million
- Regeneration scheme involving 260 new homes valued at £30 million for a housing association
- Ridge can tailor the role to suit specific client requirements.
To supplement the role, Ridge can also undertake the role of Planning co-ordinator and Party wall surveyor.
