Key dates in the history of Ridge and Partners LLP
| 1946 | Practice established in St Giles, Oxford by Harold John Ridge, a Chartered Quantity Surveyor |
| 1949 | Practice moves to larger premises |
1950’s | Expansion and name change to H J Ridge and Partners |
1965 | Team has grown to 25, and office move required to larger offices back in St Giles, Oxford |
1970’s | Building Surveying service introduced, followed by Project Management and M&E Quantity Surveying to create a “one-stop shop” |
1973 | Harold John Ridge retires and practice becomes Ridge and Partners |
1977 | Reading office opens in Greyfriars Road, Reading, later moving to Theale |
1986 | Ridge Services Consultants formed to provide M&E Design capability |
1988 | Bristol office opens and total staff number over 80 |
1990’s | Specialist Dispute Resolution / Legal Support Service developed |
1990 | Oxford office relocates to Midland House, Botley |
1992 | Quality Management System introduced |
1993 | Ridge Development Consultants formed, introducing an Architectural service at the Oxford office |
1994 | QA Accredited by the BSi |
1998 | London office opens in Woodstock Street later moving to New Bond Street in the West End |
2000’s | Specialist Health and Safety teams formed |
2002 | Ridge and Partners recognised as “Investors in People” |
2004 | Bristol office relocates to Eden Office Park |
2005 | Dennis Walker Welham & Co acquired and Ridge Leicester established. Alan Dines Partnership acquired introducing Architecture service to the Reading office. Ridge becomes a Limited Liability Partnership |
2006 | Ridge Oxford, numbering over 90 people, moves to The Cowyards. The Davidson Partnership and Cook Denning Management Ltd acquired, forming Ridge Birmingham and Worcester. |
2007 | Structural Engineering discipline added to our core services. |
2008 | New office opens in Southampton as Property Consultancy service expands. Walfords acquired, forming Ridge Liverpool, Milton Keynes and Edinburgh. A sustainability team is created providing cross-discipline advice. London office relocates to Southwark Street. |
Ridge positions itself as a modern, broad-based, forward thinking multi-disciplinary practice. We have developed the services that we offer in order to assist our clients in property and construction matters, from early business case formulation and feasibility studies through design and management of construction works, to the management of buildings whilst in use .
