Cornbow Shopping Centre

Commended, BCSC Gold Awards 2009 - In-town Retail Scheme (300,000 sq ft or less)

The BCSC promotes a series of awards to recognise achievements within the retail property industry.
The BCSC Gold Awards have been running since 1985 and seek to recognise the ever-increasing standards of excellence in our industry and at the same time pay tribute to the developers' response to the complex challenges presented by today's urban agenda.

The Cornbow Shopping Centre is the main landmark building that people see as they approach Halesowen town centre. The centre was originally opened in 1967 and for almost 40 years it has provided local people with much of their day-to-day shopping. Both the multi-store car park and the exterior of the centre needed updating. The project was organised to allow the construction of an Asda store with an underground extension, a multi-storey car park and the bus station alongside each other.
