Concrete Performance Award 2008, from The Concrete Society

The Concrete Society Awards have been run by The Society since 1968 and around 500 awards have been given over that time. The Awards initiative recognises excellence in the use of concrete in New Structures, both in Civil Engineering and Building capacity. Entries have historically ranged from private houses, bridges, acoustic sound barring walls, waste water treatment works, theatre, museums, art centres, underground stations and innovative sculptures.

From 2008 a new category of award was introduced, under the new structures banner and one which complements the above Civil Engineering and Building categories. The society has developed a Concrete Performance Award, which was won by the Renault F1 Computational Aerodynamics Research Centre, Oxfordshire.
