Ridge has appointed Rebecca Weir as senior Health & Safety Consultant. Based in our London office, Rebecca will lead Health & Safety for Ridge in the capital.
Rebecca joins from MLM and was previously a senior Consultant with EC Harris. Having worked in construction consultancy since the introduction of the CDM Regulations in 1994, Rebecca has in-depth regulatory expertise as well as practical experience gained as an asbestos surveyor.
Rebecca has written a Practice Note for the Association of Project Safety (APS). She is also a member of the APS London Region committee and the Health & Safety Executive Steering Group.
The clients that Rebecca has worked with include Rio Tinto, the Bank of England, Peabody Trust, the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew and the British Museum as well as several universities and London Borough Councils.
The pinnacle project of Rebecca’s 20 years of experience in the industry was working on the £135 million British Museum (New Exhibition & Conference Centre). ‘The project involved close liaison with the BM In-house team and in house Museum security and facilities management team from conception through to practical completion and the delivery of the project H&S file documentation. The works involved some very unusual/bespoke designs ranging from the design and installation of the largest lorry lift in the world and the specialist radiocarbon dating laboratories that contain cyanide baths/drench showers.
The appointment is part of a wider strengthening of the multi-discipline teams at Ridge as the practice builds further on the outstanding growth that it delivered in 2014. Future growth will be based firmly on the fact that we are trusted advisers for our clients, as evidenced by more than 80% of our work being repeat business.
