Ridge was to undertake a study to review the future of Thames Water's existing headquarters building to establish the best investment option.
In conjunction with the Client's appointed Agents the option appraisal identified that the existing early 1970's sixteen storey building should be redeveloped to provide a modern and efficient Company Business Centre.
Ridge operated as an integral part of Thames Water Property Team, reporting directly to the Managing Director of Thames Water Property. We worked very closely with Senior Thames Water Directors and staff to establish the redevelopment brief, put in place control procedures to manage communications, the decision making process and financial management which was documented in the Project Handbook.
The completed project has resulted in a building and working environment for which the Client and Ridge are rightfully proud. The building has successfully fulfilled the Client's brief to provide an efficient modern office building which will encourage flexible working methods and provide a welcoming but secure environment. The building has been designed to provide an energy efficient and healthy working environment and has successfully achieved an 'Excellent' BREEAM rating. This project was awarded the British Precast Award 2002 by the Concrete Society, and also the Societies Certificate of Excellence, and it was short-listed for the 2002 British Council of Offices Corporate Workspace award.
