Hertz Headquarters Relocation, Uxbridge
Hertz Europe Ltd and Hertz UK Ltd, established separately in different locations, opted to co-locate both businesses to one new headquarters building in central Uxbridge. Hertz identified the new 6-storey building as an ideal location and Ridge, known to the client, was commissioned to undertake an acquisition survey. Through negotiation, Ridge was subsequently appointed to provide full design and management services to the project.
Working in close consultation with the senior management of the organisation, alternative interior design and space planning options were considered before proposing an exciting design concept. The innovative solution minimises conventional cellular space, conversely providing a variety of open-plan areas. Throughout the 55,000 sq ft, bespoke environments of different levels of privacy and oral and visual connection create different zones, each with individual character appropriate to each level of corporate requirement. By way of a strong interior design framework the environment created is legible and simple offering clear orientation, close proximity to support facilities and has optimised the penetration of natural daylight. With four floors of office space and 2-storey basement parking, the 400-staff now benefit from a gym and a café for which Ridge assisted with placing an operator.
