Hewlett Packard
Ridge has been involved with many projects for HP, our most recently completed scheme was the fit out of Hewlett Packard's main Thames Valley office. The scheme consolidated the activities and staff of two offices, incorporating a Reading office into an existing and fully occupied building at a commercial park in Bracknell.
This fast track, phased fit-out scheme was a challenging project in which Ridge overcame timescale and value for money issues imposed by the tight 24-week window.
Six shifts of movement and relocation achieved 1,100 existing on-site staff being moved around and installed between four areas, as they were completed. Meanwhile the influx of the additional 600 relocated staff was phased into this programme.
Ridge managed this system as economically as possible by running two phases simultaneously. Ridge further achieved considerable cost savings by rationalising the interior design concepts for buildability and by becoming very involved in the co-ordination of the Contractor's supply chain.
The refurbishment included upgrading clear office and meeting room areas, the restaurant, the reception and client demonstration areas. Sixteen "e-zones" (staff break-out zones/coffee bars) were created and decorated with a striking paint scheme and a new 216 space car park was created.
