Lying at the centre of the Campus, the Library is the physical focal point for information and academic support services at University of Bath. The original 1960s building had been previously extended onto the central 'Parade', adding a dominant presence to the central meeting and social activity area.
The entrance and main circulation areas of the access storey, have been refurbished, including installation of new entry and exit automatic door pods, and the key information services have been rearranged to improve access into and around a new open plan flexible learning facility.
The new combined security and information desks located conveniently in the reception area, have allowed effective management of the traffic flows. The provision of full height glazed screen partitions to segregate the adjacent Quick Access PC facility and the entrance foyer compliments the glazed façade to create an open environment linked visually with the 'Parade' hub.
