The new centre comprises general practitioner surgeries, community services, a 28-bed EMI hospital (elderly mentally infirm), a 20-outpatient hospital, a dental surgery, plastic surgeon, a renal unit (supporting 12 dialysis stations), a pharmacy, offices and a café.

The buildings, which are concrete framed, with concrete plank floors have high performance composite panel roofs, with a combination of terracotta rain screen cladding and rendered elevations, designed on a Mediterranean theme.  The internal courtyards are landscaped to provide restful seating areas, and have been designed to be secure for patients whilst incorporating emergency evacuation routes.
