Historic and Conservation

Blenheim Palace, Woodstock
We have been involved in a rolling repair programme on the Grade 1 listed palace, over the last 20 years concentrating on masonry and roofing and M & E services to the main palace buildings, park buildings and park monuments the work also included reinstatement cost assessments. Examples of projects are:
Terracotta Statues: The removal, conservation and relocation of eighteenth century terracotta statues and their replacement with replicas more resistant to severe weathering. Work is currently being undertaken to specifications prepared by English Heritage.
Rewiring: Rewiring of the State Rooms on the ground floor of the main Palace building. The project is scheduled in phases, and is part of a long term electrical re-wiring project, commenced by Ridge in 1997. The project was procured by single stage tender and negotiation.
Fire Alarms: Ridge has been commissioned to replace an aging fire alarm system in conjunction with a fire risk analysis. A new radio controlled system was required to minimise the intrusion of new cables into the historic building.
