Heythrop Park
The original house was built circa 1705 by Thomas Archer; following a fire, it was restored and rebuilt in 1871. It is the second largest house in Oxfordshire and holds Grade II Listing. In the late 1960’s the house was extended and remodelled to serve as a training and conference centre for a high street bank until 2000 when our client bought the estate and converted it into a hotel facility.
Phase I -The main house was converted from the conference centre into a 14-bed luxury hotel facility, whilst the 270 standard bedrooms in the additional accommodation wings were refurbished and incorporated into the hotel.
Phase 2- Ridge has conducted a feasibility study into the conversion of the development, as a whole, into a Hotel & Spa Country Resort; this scheme includes an 18-hole Championship Golf Course and a new Leisure Centre.
120 4-star bedrooms will be developed in the historic buildings whilst a further 180 bedrooms and a ball room will be remodelled in the new and redeveloped areas. Conference and training facilities will be state of the art, whilst the Leisure Centre will rival its competitors.
The 440 acres of listed parkland will be replanted to match its original designs and sympathetically accommodate an exceptional championship quality golf course.
