Ridge is always keen to go the extra mile for clients but a recent left-field request from Southampton Airport required us to get seriously creative.
The airport, a client of our Winchester office, has teamed up with Marwell Zoo to organise a fun April Fool’s Day prank. They have sent out several press releases revealing supposed plans for a new zebra enclosure at the airport. The joke follows on from the announcement that Marwell Zoo will be scattering the streets of Southampton with colourful painted ceramic zebras, which it has branded Zany Zebras. This follows the success of last year’s invasion of painted rhinos.
To add further credibility, Southampton needed an artist’s impression of the new zebra enclosure that will supposedly greet passengers as they check in. Elliott Wingfield from the Oxford office kindly swapped buildings for wildlife for the day and we think that he has done a fantastic job bringing the hoax to life – indeed; we could say he’s really earned his stripes (excuse the pun!) The joke was unveiled to the press at midday on the 1st of April.
