Amid the spring sunshine two Ridge teams took part in the Reading Half Marathon Corporate Challenge. The Corporate Challenge required the teams to each have at least two members running the route of the Vitality Reading Half Marathon (13.1 miles each) and two people running the course of the Green Park Challenge (1.75 miles each).
Our Green Park Challenge runners had the early start at 08.30am but that did not stop them from achieving some excellent performances with Sarah Adams, Anne Holmes and Jonathan Roberts coming first in their respective age category and Siobhan Baverstock second in her group. These results gave our half marathon runners the best possible start as they set off in such warm conditions that sun cream would have been handy! The team was led home by Alex Bruce-Littlewood, a QS in our Reading office, clocking an impressive 1:06:32 and 13th overall.
The teams ran tremendously well with some PBs as well as a degree of personal suffering! This commitment and determination was well worth it though, because our runners were crowned the Corporate Challenge winners. Well done to all.
