With the increasing developments in environmental legislation, reducing carbon dioxide emissions and water consumption and specifying materials from sustainable sources we are developing our skills and understanding to provide clients with advice to meet these demands.
Ridge Consultants Andy Williams and Andy Greenwood are now listed on the Register of Low Carbon Consultants (LCC) for design and management. The LCC is a database of construction professionals that have demonstrated extra skills and abilities to be able to deliver more energy efficient buildings.
Ridge Low Carbon Consultants can offer advice on:
- Thermal modelling, cost in use, comparison exercises and general environmental consultancy
- Energy and carbon audits of existing buildings including energy labelling
- Designing new buildings within a carbon footprint
- The improvement of the energy performance of buildings in terms of technical and management issues (the Energy Performance Directive for Buildings will require all publicly accessible buildings to display energy labelling from January 2009)
Ridge is also listed on the LPCB/BRE Red Book Live website, www.redbooklive.com, under Building CO2 Emission Rate Calculations with Doug Woollett certified on the ‘Competent Persons Scheme’.
Ridge Architects, Engineers, Surveyors and Project Managers can also offer advice on:
- Compliance with new and emerging legislation such as Part L regulations, predictions of energy and carbon use and natural ventilation methods with IES thermal modelling software
- The design of new buildings with passive sustainable design principles incorporated at the outset. We use three-dimensional modelling software to design the external envelope to meet specified thermal performance
- Our qualified BREEAM and “Code for Sustainable Homes” assessors can undertake full assessments for offices and houses, as well as assist with the design of projects to improve predicted BREEAM scores in a cost effective way
- The cost of sustainable design. Our experience from a wide range of projects and sectors has given us robust cost models and methodologies for comparing life cycle costs
- Delivering sustainable projects. Ridge will ensure that we meet our clients’ business plan objectives
