Five-year framework for the delivery of project management services to a variety of schemes for the University of Oxford estate portfolio.
The University of Oxford Estate comprises a 590,000m² portfolio of buildings and land with a wide range of asset types and uses. The Estate includes world-renowned specialist research buildings, teaching laboratories, lecture halls, libraries and museums, sports facilities and administrative buildings.
In response to the predicted growth of the overall Estate, and the changing funding structure of Capital Projects, the University of Oxford’s Estate Services (UOES) required project management consultants to deliver a variety of capital projects over a potential five-year period. The type and range of projects varies from office and educational refurbishment projects, to new world-beating state-of-the-art research facilities. The University has an established capital projects governance and delivery process which project managers are required to work within.
Ridge tendered for the framework and went through rigorous selection criteria before being appointed as part of the project management team.
The UOES requires the Ridge team to work as though they were part of the internal Project Management Team.
To date Ridge has been appointed to deliver services to a number of new build and refurbishment projects. In particular Ridge has overseen an extensive programme of value engineering and cost reduction design measures, whilst maintaining the overall programme and stakeholder buy-in, ensuring that a new build Art School could be delivered within the client’s brief and budget.
