Heathcott Road Scheme

Located on the outskirts of Leicester, Heathcott Road is an award-winning and eco-friendly development by emh Homes, featuring 68 new properties. Previously derelict allotments and part of a post-war neighbourhood, the site has been regenerated to comprise of 62 affordable houses, two bungalows and four spacious apartments.

The development is the largest residential scheme to date  in the UK to receive a full Passivhaus Certification, which is an industry recognised standard accrediting properties which are energy efficient, comfortable, affordable and ecological. Comprising all these elements, Heathcott Road has also achieved a Level 4 Code for Sustainable Homes.

The sector-leading scheme was achieved through a partnership between Leicester City Council, Saffron Lane Neigbourhood Council and emh Homes. Bringing sustainability to the forefront, the development also includes adjacent allotments, beehives and a permaculture farm providing workshops on growing produce, cooking and healthy eating.
