Midland Metro

An extension to the Midland Metro in Birmingham is currently underway to improve the current Metro service, boosting businesses and making travelling easier for commuters.

Government funding has helped the project come into fruition, creating a 2km extension from Grand Central stop, through the Town Hall and main civic centre buildings and through Broad Street to Centenary Square.

Part of Birmingham City Council’s “Big City Plan” the £130 million development is being built without overhead lines, minimising the impact on the nearby buildings.
