Proton Beam Therapy Unit, London

Ridge has a strong relationship with University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and since 2010 has advised on one of its flagship projects, the world-leading Proton Beam Therapy cancer treatment centre in Euston. The unit comprises a building seven stories in height above ground as well as a five-storey basement – one of London’s largest basements – housing the proton beam technology.

A variety of Ridge experts have been involved in the project throughout. Having worked on the outline business case, Ridge went on to handle the feasibility stage and then developed strategies for minimising energy use and mitigating risks during construction. Building Information Modelling digital technology has been used throughout the project to ensure efficient delivery of an extremely complex building.
