Ridge Complete Phase 1 & 2 Services at Innovation Birmingham Campus

Ridge undertook the role of Project Manager and Site Supervisor on the development of the Innovation Birmingham Campus Phase 1 – iCentrum and Phase 2 – The Universities Centre. The most recent completion, the Universities Centre emphasises creating a collaborative working space environment for micro-enterprises, boasting state-of-the art communications equipment, with each of Birmingham’s five universities benefiting from video conference suites as part of the project. At 5,000 sq ft and £2m in value, the project was financed by grant funding from the Greater Birminhgam and Solihull LEP. The Universities Centre, an extension to the Faraday Wharf building, is the second of 5 new developments at the campus, following the completion of the 42,149 sq ft iCentrum building back in March 2016.

The iCentrum project is now delivering a new digital innovation centre consisting of 35,000 sq ft of flexible working space, business units and a break out area. The building provides space for 400 high-valued skilled tech jobs at any one time; generating £25m of GVA to the local economy per annum. The £8m project was delivered both on time and on-budget following a 60 week build programme.

For both projects, Ridge successfully advised the Client in the preparation of Pre-Construction Agreements, programming and planning. Ridge has project managed the respective multi-disciplinary design team from RIBA stage 2 through to RIBA Stage 7 and has successfully managed the discharge of pre-commencement conditions of planning, building control plan approvals and ensured project conformance with CDM 2015. Both projects achieved the Client’s requirement of BREEAM Very Good.

As Project Manager for iCentrum and the University Centre, Ridge have been an integral member to the client and the project team and are being retained for the role of the clients Project Manager for all future phases of the £20m science park.

We note that you project manage projects, we offer systems for defects management, drawing management and the use of BIM on tablets to take onto site.

The system we offer for drawings will give you all the latest information on a continue basis on a tablet supplied by you or rented from us.

The best way to understand the systems is to have a demonstration in your offices or on site.
